Did You Know?

PTA funds from membership, fundraisers, and donations directly support our efforts in three key areas. Here’s how our PTA programming breaks down in a typical year…

How we use our funds

Enrichment Programs

The PTA delivers interactive student learning opportunities through Arts Created Together (ACT) and Science programs from the Museum of Science, Discovery Museum, New England Aquarium, and many others. We work closely with Harrington and other LPS teachers and staff to support curriculum enrichment programs, including Big Backyard and Math Mornings.

Community Building

The Harrington community serves our students best when we work together. That’s why the PTA focuses on connecting families through METCO Family Friends, Room Parents, Teacher Appreciation Week, and during our traditional welcome back to school event, the Harrington Hurrah, and our favorite end-of-the-year celebration, the Spring Fair. We support programs that help our students to grow, like Understanding Our Differences. And we bring interactive events (Talent Show, Science Fair, International Night, the Fun Run, Movie Nights, and Ninja Warrior Night) to all of our students and their families.

Classroom & School Resources

Each year, the PTA offers funds for our educators to bring new ideas into the classroom or to simply stock up on everyday needs for our students. PTA funds directly support enhancement projects, such as the meditation garden, or the purchase of new playground features. During this very unique 2020-2021 school year, the PTA will be working closely with Harrington and LPS to find solutions for outdoor space and classroom opportunities.
